The purpose of this organization

is the rescue, rehabilitation, prevention of cruelty, and re-homing

of misplaced Shetland Sheepdogs and other herding breeds/mixes,

in the Mideast Atlantic area including the  state of Virginia, DC, and

surrounding states, and assisting with other non-profit Sheltie

organizations when needed.

Education of the humans is our first priority, re-homing the dog is

second.  Finding the owners of lost dogs and, where that is not

possible, caring for the dogs in a network of foster homes before

 placing them with appropriate adopters

Educating the public on responsible dog ownership,

why a breed-specific rescue organization is so important,

offering advice to any Sheltie owner with problems concerning their herding dog.

Maintaining a Lost and Found outreach to aid owners in finding their lost dogs.

Monitoring and assisting the development of animal-friendly laws and

their enforcement at our local and county levels of government.
