Cayden -  (meaning brave fighter)

October 4th, 2010

Lost his fight on this day after coming into rescue with massive injuries.  He fought hard and gave us his heart; while we lost a piece of ours.

Cayden story reached many people across the country and Dogwood was touched at the massive amount of kindness, thoughts, prayers and advice from all.

Caydens Poem

I walk through fields of green and gold

No longer feeling pain,

I play with others waiting here,

Until we meet again.

The things that happened ere we met,

No grief on me bestow.

For I was touched by love you see;

Twas love that let me go.

Don't grieve for me, for I am now,

In a land where pain is no more.

I know you'll come for me some day,

Together reach the shore.

Each day I bark to angels here,

I met angels here on earth.

They smile and nod their head at me,

They know what your love was worth.

What joy to know the pain is gone.

How good once more to run!

I never shall forget you,

Tho my earthly life is done.

I play with others, waiting here,

For rescuers to guide them through.

I wait each day with joyous heart,

My rescuer was you.

Miss photogenic lost her battle with cancer.

Lyra was our poster girl for Dogwood, and heart and soul for all that met her after adoption.

Our hearts go out to her owners who gave her everything, and all the memories they share of her short time with them.  Lyra completed their family.

Lyra star shines brightly each night from above.
