Well it's been one week today since I came to live at my forever home with my forever family of Dad, Mom and my new big brother, Tucker.

SUNDAY:  We got home about 5 PM and I climbed right up on the sofa next to dad and put my head on his shoulder and zonked out.  We got up and Dad went to bed around 8 PM and I went with him and slept all night right beside him in bed.  He's really warm to sleep next to but he snores........ but I don't mind.  Mom does though she's always poking him or pulling the covers off him so he'll stop.

MONDAY:  Mom and Dad love how quickly I go potty when they put me outside.  And I haven't had any accidents either.  I spent today on the sofa velcroed to mom's hip and Tucker was napping on her lap.  I think I'm really gonna like it here they are really nice and like to pet me and snuggle with me too.

TUESDAY:  Mom had to go out and do errands today so it was my first time home alone (except for Tucker of course) and Tucker and I did just fine I just slept on the sofa with him til Mom came back.  I'm mom's girl when Dad's at work but when he comes home I become his.  He has been feeding me on the sofa from his hand and then I started taking food from the bowl as long as dad sits beside me on the sofa.  Then he brings me a drink too.  Boy what a dad, a girl could do a lot worse then my new Dad.

WEDNESDAY:  Another quiet day at home with Mom, she did get up off the sofa today and do things around the house so I just followed along behind her.  She took me out in the yard today and we walked around my new GREAT BIG YARD.  I just kept my nose right on the back of her left leg and off we went.  I think after awhile I'll really like running around the yard by myself but for right now I like Mom or Dad to come with me.

THURSDAY:  Today I went to the Vet and got a clean bill of health and some shots so now I'm a ok.  When we got home I went to lay on the sofa and Tucker came to greet me and I actually sort of growled at him and even showed some teeth.  Mom was surprised because she hadn't heard any noises from me yet, but Tucker didn't seem to scared he just lay down beside me and took a nap.  Guess I'm going to have to work on my "vicious" growl. :-)

FRIDAY:  Had company for dinner last night and I got to meet some of Mom and Dad's friends who come to dinner every Thursday.  Well they thought I was just precious and they all made a big fuss over me.  I liked that.  They played with Tucker too so he wouldn't get jealous.  At least that's what mom told me, frankly I don't understand why they would want to pay attention to the CAT when I'M around. :-)  Mom and Dad think I'm the best pottying dog they have ever had I can go out and do my "business" before they even get the door closed sometimes.  That's really nice when it's late at night or early in the morning and they want to jump right back in bed.  But that's what I want too so we're all happy.

SATURDAY:  I let mom hear my pitiful whine today.  She was in the bathroom getting dressed and I was out in the hall and Tucker was between me and her and I guess I was too afraid to go past him so I just whined and mom came running and made Tucker move.  :-) Score one for the little sister.

SUNDAY: I tried my whining out again today, mom was in the bathroom getting ready for church and I was up on the bed (the bed here is REALLY high so they made me a step to help me get on and off) and Tucker was sitting right in the middle of the step so I couldn't get down and go see what mom was up to.  So I just gave a really pitiful whine and just like clockwork, mom came running, but this time she took one look at Tucker and burst out laughing.  (People, go figure)

Mickey continues to do well.

He is learning that "the crate" is ok, even if it is in a hotel room, our car or our basement.

He really is a sweetie and seems very healthy and happy.

We think she has multiple personalities.

Angel is such a quite, little lady in the house.

An a tuff girl when she is out side.

She has already become best friends with the mailman.

Everyone in the neighborhood loves her and

she is coming out of her shell.

She and my grand daughter are also best

friends, laying on the comforter and watching movies.

Too cute. I hope she likes her new home as much as we love her.

Hi Lynne,

Josh looks stunningly handsome now after his bath and he visited his new vet today.
She figured his age around 18 months and told me he needs to gain about ten pounds. We will be working on

that! He is adjusting well and goes upstairs now all by himself . He loves to sleep in front of our younger
daughter's door! They are getting to be great pals.

We bought him a squeaker ball and he LOVES it! Especially outside, he runs and gets it and then throws it up

in the air by himself. The TV, ceiling fan, oven, microwave, hairdryer, etc. still startle him, but he is getting

a little used to them and the other indoor noises hat he's not used to.

We love how he crosses his front legs when he lays down! Too bad he doesn't
like the camera! I'll try to get some pictures of him soon and send them. Thank you so much for offering him to us!

Hello everyone,

Well, it has been a full 2 weeks, and it looks like Lyra has decided to keep us.

I know that Frank and I are gushing like new parents, but we really cannot get over how wonderful this dog really is. She is smart, affectionate, and has a very funny personality. She definitely knows the commands of sit, shake, and leave it. We've been able to teach her to lie down and wait in the 2 weeks that we've had her. She already knows us as her family, and while she barks at the mailman, she doesn't bark at us when we're coming up to the door. She has rolled onto her back and showed me her belly (all four feet and nose comically up in the air) three times in the past two weeks, so I think she has decided we are her pack. She has been a perfectly behaved young lady in the house, and she's a spirited lass on our walks. Frank has even taken her jogging a few times, and reports that she makes him feel old and slow. Lyra has been perfectly respectful of our cat, and a peace accord has been successfully negotiated. They are able to be on the same piece of furniture, within a couple feet of each other, for hours at a time. They're able to cross within inches in the hallways and sleep on the same bed at night as though they've been sharing the same space for years. We are so proud of our girls! It has been a wonderful Christmas this year, and we cannot thank you enough for this sweet little addition to our family. Happy New Year to all!

Cheers,
Rebecca and Frank

Dear Lynne and Nancy,

Today being Christmas, I wanted to wish you both a Merry one, and to thank you for one of the nicest presents I have ever received--a wonderful pet! Sweetie (soon to be renamed Phoebe) has turned out to be about as perfect as a new dog could be. Her manners are impeccable: she lies down 10 feet away when I eat; she sleeps in in the morning arising when I do and greeting me with a wagging tail on the side of the bed; she has had no accidents since the second day, and runs right out and back in from outside; she has chewed up nothing in the apartment. Most importantly, she seems content and growing happier and more confident with each passing day. She's an absolute delight!

We both thank you for bringing her in, restoring her to health, and spending time fostering her and finding her a loving home. Both Sweetie and I will be eternally thankful!

Have good holidays!
Marcia

Hi All

Tommy is settling in well. He has already been to his new Vet and got a clean bill of health. He is getting to know his new neighborhood and neighbors (both the 4 legged and 2 legged kind). And some of his initial shyness is already beginning go away. Tommy is doing amazingly well. I am so happy that things worked out. He's got a playful little girlfriend up the street, starting to show comfort and personality. Let's us know when he needs to go out. All is good.

Hopefully we can boost his confidence a little with the start of Doggie Kindergarten/Good Manners class.

He and our son Sang are bonding and having a great time with some new toys that we picked up for him.

He is such a sweet and precious dog - thank you so much for bringing him to us.

Things are going good and getting better. I think Tazley is warming up to us nicely, and we enjoy her company. She also seems to be more comfortable in the house and yard, she will lay down and sleep in the middle of the floor instead of under tables and chairs and now and has definite favorite spots in the yard for business. She hasn't shown any tendency to bolt, she sits well away from the door when we are going in and out without her and will sit and wait patiently when we put her leash on for exercise time.

She still likes to patrol and will react to squirrels, ducks, and all sorts of things we don't see but she is just curious and not trying to run away. Bonnie keeps a good eye on her also and Bons seems to behave better now that she has to set a good example.

The photo is of Tazley (formally Presley) and her 'floppy dog"

We'll keep in touch

Hey!  Hynes just wanted to check in and say "hi"! We love him.  What a cutie.  We have been doing 4 mile walks everyday and still trying to see how we can climb a tree to snag a squirrel!

We love our new pup!  Hynes, aka Hines, will be on week Three of the Dog Obedience Classes this Wednesday.

Roger & my arms are getting quite the workout as we reel him in with a "heel" as he is desperate to "catch a car" - or any motorized object, for that matter!

He is as smart as a whip; and is the model student in class.

Hope your week is going great.

Sophie is adjusting more and more each day and is doing very well with her training.  Any issues that confuse her are usually on my end.

She's an absolute delight and we are enjoying her so much.  She knows when I'm working and will quietly approach me when I hang up the phone or put down my computer to see if it's her time to come sit with me.  She's so smart and it's amazing how quickly she learns new commands.  I take her for puppy play time once each week and she is interacting with the staff and other dogs more with each visit.

Also, the flaxseed you recommended for her skin is working great.

Thanks,

Susan

Bailey (formally Diva) is still doing great and has pretty much settled into her new home and new routine.  She loves the cats and they have fully adjusted to her being here.  In fact, she now climbs the steps to the second floor and comes down them at will, all thanks to her motivation to follow the cats around.  She still "howls" sometimes if you leave her alone downstairs and it is very funny.

The vet visit went well.  In fact, they think she may even be a little younger than 5 years old.  Her coat and skin looked good and her weight was perfect at 16 lbs.  Our vet liked the 1/4 cup of food twice a day so we'll be continuing that regimen.

Her travel to my mother's house was a non-event.  She loved my dad.  I think she must have had a man who took care of her.  She tends to go to them first.

In summary, everyone loves her and thinks she's adorable.  She seems to be well adjusted and content.

Thank you guys so much for finding her for us!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome! We are delighted to have Seba in our home - She got to meet her grandparents (and their own new sheltie) last night and duly impressed them with her ebullient affection and training. She certainly knows how to impress! My mom loves her soft coat and has thinks she looks like a little arctic fox.

The only issue we've run into so far is very loud inopportune barking—we're talking an hour of barking after being placed in her pen while Sue was trying to work (Sue works from home and couldn't get much work done yesterday until I got home and created a diversion). I've advised Sue to put her in her crate 30 minutes before a phone conference and cover it to see if that helps -- it seems Seba is OK with her crate/pen if she thinks we're not around, but will bark incessantly if she sees us or knows we're home.

Interestingly, she's been very good (knock on wood) about going to bed at night. We just put her in her crate, turn off the lights, drop a treat in her dish, and she goes right to sleep. Maybe she's storing it up for daytime crating?

We're incredibly grateful to everyone involved in rescuing, raising, and  training Seba -- she's a true ray of sunshine in our home and is already  a best friend and companion. She lightens the mood anywhere she goes,   and I'm very hopeful that we'll have the opportunity to work with her as a therapy dog in the future.

Buddy's favorite things: Frisbee (catching it and tug of war), sniffing the cats and running after them if they run away (he thinks they want to play chase), ice cubes, whatever YOU are eating (even though he is not allowed any people food), walks and runs (if you can keep up with him, still on the leash until the fence and gate are finished in mid-June!), daily brush time (it's like his spa appointment), going after water from the garden hose sprayer (I've never seen anyone so excited to see a hose, nor so unwilling to leave it - can't wait to see him with the sprinkler), anything or anyone that walks by, meeting new people, the couches, cows, riding in the car, pets and belly rubs, sniffing at the window, treats, any pill that comes stuck in peanut butter, dental care oral spray, following whoever moves, when a human comes home

Buddy's least favorite things: if you are petting a cat and not petting him, when you work on the computer and are not petting him, when you watch TV and are not petting him, rain or lightning or thunder (I will be getting some melatonin today, and ordered some Rescue Remedy), dental wipes, when either human leaves the house

These are some of the pictures we have taken of Prince. He is still timid about going to Paul and Stephen but making some progress with Paul when Paul has food.  He will take the food, back off and then bark.

We took Prince to the vet yesterday. He checked out fine. His ear is almost well, we need to use the medicine the rest of this week. The Dr. told us that Prince has a cataract and that also is making it more difficult for him to see. He was so good in the vet office . Of course they all were women!!!!.

We are enjoying him immensely, sleeps in my room on the floor and when I tell "Him that I am going to sleep and say go to bed now", he goes to his spot and I never know he is there. In the morning  he stays in his spot until my legs come out of the bed and than he is right there and happy to see me.

Hope you are doing well.

Sincerely,

   Virginia Anne & Cathy

So that's my first week, thank you so much for finding me such a wonderful forever home.  I've got it "made in the shade" here and with each passing day I get more and more "at home".  The vet said I'd just blossom in a few months.  But mom and dad love me just the way I am so t

hey are in no big hurry to change me.  They tell everyone I'm a shy girl but that's ok and I can have all the time I need to "settle in".

Hope everything is fine with my foster family.  Licks and snuggles to you all.

Love,  Mindy
